Our Story
Team "Doin It 4 DALE" is dedicated our loving father, Dale Wilson Williams. On Dec 18, 2004, our lives changed forever. We thought that dad was having a stroke or heart attack. After a series of tests, we were told the shocking news that he had a tumor in his brain that was the size of a lemon. There were very little warning signs. Dale was an avid golfer and runner who loved his church, Rotary club, military experience - Marines and Army Reserves, Tennessee Volunteers, and his family. Dale was taken to Duke where he had surgery by Dr. Friedman on 12/22/04 to remove the tumor. The surgery was a success. Dale courageously battled this disease for over 16 months through many rounds of radiation, chemo, and seizures. He was able to attend his son' s wedding (Brad), his nephew's wedding (Joe T), and his 4th gradchild's birth (William) as well as enjoy several trips to the beach and to the mountains. Dale passed away on May 5, 2006 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery. We are running & walking to keep the memory of our dad alive. We deeply miss him and love him so very much.

At the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, they understand how overwhelming a brain tumor diagnosis can be and they are passionate about understanding the "how" and "why" of brain tumors. But they need our support to push their research forward at a faster rate to find a cure. Thank you for your support. Your gift puts us closer to the goal of finding a cure for brain tumors.
