Chief Steve Cordell

January 19, 1972-January 29, 2023

On January 29, 2023, my brother, Steve Cordell, lost his year-long battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.  Every day...I miss my brother!  His loss has left a void in my life, the life of our family, the life of his wonderful friends, and the life of the Henderson Fire Department.

Steve fought his battle with cancer as he fought every battle in his life...with God's Mercy and His Power.  He lived out his life verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."Philippians 4:13, in every battle he faced, most especially cancer! Steve never asked "Why?", and he never gave up his fight.  He wanted to be cured, but he also wanted everyone to know that all Fire Fighters risk their lives every day to save others.  Their greatest risk is not the risk of fire, but the risk of cancer!  

I promised Steve I would continue his fight to bring an AWARENESS and PROTECTION to all firefighters who suffer from this horrific disease! We will be CORDELL STRONG in our fight!  I will never give up, and I ask you to join me as we remember...
