As many of you know, my daughter-in-law Jessica Schavone, was diagnosed with a high-grade inoperable brain tumor at the end of 2023. Her brain tumor is rare and it is because of the research and recent breakthroughs at Duke that she has treatments that are now known to be successful with her type of cancer. Jess has been enduring immunotherapy treatments every three weeks for almost a year now and it is working! Her tumor is almost gone and it is stable. She's like the little engine that could and has an amazing support train.
The Angels Among Us 5K/Walk of HOPE supports fighters and survivors of brain tumors through research and education at Duke Brain Tumor Center.
