I have decided to participate in the Angels Among Us 5K and Walk of HOPE event on April 25, 2026 to help raise funds for brain tumor research. For four years now, I have set up a team called The Fighting Brainiacs. We walked last year and it was tons of fun. The event is really special. You can either walk or run the 5K through Duke and its surrounding streets. It's an easy walk/run and quite lovely.

I am inviting you to join my team (either as a repeat, or first timer), register or make a donation. The more the merrier, and the better for the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke and those suffering from brain tumors and brain cancer.

Duke is a leader in research and treatment in this arena. The staff is second to none. 

Participating in an event that raises money for brain tumor research is so important to me and may touch your life in some way. No gift is too small.

People from all over the world travel for treatment at Duke's Cancer Center. I myself travelled from Costa Rica for treatment in 2013 and continue to this day. I'm a living, breathing testament to their work!! Despite the constant MRIs, radiation and various medications, I consider myself fortunate.

The money raised will go towards helping to improve patients' quality of life and finding a cure. We need your support, so please do anything you can; join my team, register, or make a donation.
