This year marks a milestone for us: 25 years since Brian?s diagnosis and 25 years of walking, running, fundraising, and standing together with the Duke Brain Tumor Center community. What started back in 2001 as a way to rally around Brian has become a powerful tradition ? one filled with love, resilience, and hope.
The Angels Among Us 5K and Walk of Hope isn?t just another event on the calendar. For our family, and for so many others touched by brain tumors, it is a reminder of the progress made and the urgent need to keep pushing forward. We are deeply grateful for the world-class care, research, and compassion at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. Their work has been a lifeline, and every dollar raised ? 100% of it ? goes directly toward groundbreaking research.
This year, we want it to be BIG. We?re asking everyone to make the effort to be there in person if possible ? take the day off work, bring your friends, lace up your running shoes, or come cheer. If you can?t join us in person, you can still register and be with us in spirit: every person, every donation, and every cheer matters.
Being part of Headcases means more than wearing a shirt or crossing a finish line. It means celebrating Brian, honoring every journey, and fueling the fight for answers. It means standing with those who are newly diagnosed, who know the overwhelming fear that comes with those words, and showing them that there is a community behind them.
So whether you walk, run, donate, or cheer ? join us. Let?s make this 25th year a celebration of courage, community, and the relentless pursuit of a cure.
Join Team Headcases today ? in person or in spirit ? and let?s make hope visible together.
