Angels Among Us 2026

Ole MacKevin Gli-i-e-i-o

Join me for the Angels Among Us 5K and Walk for Hope on Saturday, April 25th as we come together to raise awareness, support patients, and bring hope to everyone affected by brain tumors. This year my team name is "Ole MacKevin Gli-i-e-i-o".

You can walk or run alongside me, or you can donate to support this cause. Every step and every dollar truly matters.

On May 30, 2023, my life changed in an instant when I suddenly lost my ability to speak and was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor. It was terrifying and at first, the outlook felt overwhelming with local doctors giving very limited time to live. But the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University became my lifeline. Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment gave me the strength and hope to keep fighting.

Glioblastoma is an aggressive and rare cancer, and it’s uncommon to go this long without a recurrence. I don’t take a single day for granted. I’m incredibly grateful to God for carrying me through this journey and for blessing me with a medical team whose care has truly been life-changing. Today, I’m thankful to say I’ve completed treatment and am now in the maintenance phase.

But I also know I would not be here without the love, support, and prayers of my family and friends. You lifted me up when I felt weak, stood beside me when I was afraid, and reminded me to keep believing when the road felt impossible. I will never be able to fully express how much that has meant to me.

The funds raised through this event help fuel groundbreaking research and clinical trials that are giving people like me more time, more hope, and a fighting chance. Bringing us closer to a cure.

If you are able, please consider donating or joining me for the 5K. Your support means more than I can put into words, and together we truly can make a difference.
