Hi friends and family, 

The date of this year's Angels Among Us is a significant date for our family. April 25th, 2026 will mark exactly 20 years since my mom, Carla, went home to be with the Lord. It seems unfathomable that it has been twenty years. I know I speak for my entire family when I say that your kindness and care shown to us back in 2006 has never been forgotten, and we are deeply touched by your continued support for us and Angels Among Us year after year. 

This year marks our 22nd year walking as a team, and the 32nd year of Angels Among Us. Hubba's Bubbas has been participating in Angels Among Us since 2004.

This year, we will order new 'lifetime' Hubba's Bubbas shirts to wear year after year to mark the milestone. The early years of the tie-dyed shirts were popular, and we are resurrecting the tie-dye theme!  Please reach out to Megan or Brooke directly to place your order if interested by the beginning of March :) 

We race and walk in remembrance of our two angels, Carla Stitt (2006) and Maribeth Spangenberg (2012), my mom and my aunt, my heroes. These two sister-in-laws were characterized by their faith, courage, and kindness. They made a lasting impact on every person they interacted with, and are dearly missed today and always by our family. Throughout their journeys with brain cancer, they remained steadfast and courageous at every turn, choosing to trust in Jesus. We honor them by continuing to push for a cure, and by embodying their spirit of kindness and hope. 

On the new tie-dye shirts, you will find the phrase "Love Never Fails" - this was a constant phrase my Aunt Maribeth repeated to her kids and to her family, from Corinthians 13. She truly lived a life of love,  and she is dearly, dearly missed. 

1 Corinthians 13:  

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part,but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.  For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
