I cannot believe that it has been 17 years since Chesley and I first found out about the Angels Among Us charity and its support for Brain Tumor research. By now you know that we support this organization after our son Tate suffered from a brain tumor in December 2005. Tate is now 19 years old and doing really well. He is a freshman at Virginia Tech and he is majoring in Engineering. He loves to play golf, basketball, and lacrosse. During Tate’s last visit to Duke for his MRI, he was cleared by the doctor with a clean bill of health and only has to visit the neurosurgeon and the oncologist at Duke every other year now.
We have been so fortunate with Tate's recovery and want to do all we can to help others and hopefully find a cure for brain tumors. Thanks to your support last year, we were able to raise over $15,000 to donate to 'Angels Among Us' and the Spring 2023 event raised over 2.5 million dollars. With your help over the last 16 years we have been able to donate over $250,000.
Chesley and I are asking for your support of 'Team Tate' again this year as we participate in the 5K Run and Family Fun Walk at Duke University's campus. Please help us reach our goal of matching or beating the amount we raised last year.
