To All
As most of you are aware after a three and half year battle with cancer, Craig, my brother was taken from us. As a family; we lost our brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, and a great person on January 2, 2014.
Please join us at Duke on April 27, 2024 to honor Craig by running, walking, and/or donating to help Duke find a cure for brain cancer. Together we can raise enough money for awareness and help find a cure to this deadly and horrible disease.
He leaves behind a 10 year old little boy and a 35 year old wife. He was only married for 8 weeks before he was diagnosed with brain cancer. I made a promise to Craig his last hours to make sure we carried on this event in his honor. Craig loved to dance and have a good time. His smile was contagious and he loved his friends as if they were family.
This is a promise I made to Craig within his last couple hours of passing. He fought so hard for 3 years when he was 1st diagnosed in Ocotober 2010. Let's make this year the best year and knowing how much his fight taught us about not giving up and never to stop smiling.
Please participate in the Angels Among Us 5K Run and to help raise funds for brain tumor research. Why don't you join my team; the more the merrier, and the better for the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. We need people like you on my team. "Team Craig Running For Tumor-Rows Cure" you can walk also or just donate, it's also a tax write off.
Participating in an event that raises money for cancer research, it will touch someone in your life in some way. Think about the ways cancer has impacted those around you. The money we raise will go to helping to improve patients quality of life and find a cure. We need your support, so please do anything you can to help, please join my team, register as an individual or make a donation on my behalf. Thank you so much for all your support!
Lastly, if you cannot make it to the event, you can still make a donation.
Thank you all for your love, support and continued prayers for our family. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Steve Poythress
