Please join our family in person, virtually, or consider making a donation to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University as part of the Angels Among Us 5k Run we are participating in on October 3.
My dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer, in March of 2020 (ironically the same weekend he was all trained for and ready to run a marathon!). We are fortunate to live near Duke University, where he was diagnosed and subsequently had two brain surgeries, 3 rounds of radiation, many doses of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, participated in a clinical trial, and continues to be treated. My dad really is strongest person I know!
Without the expertise of physicians like Drs Peters, Friedman, Battich, Kirkpatrick, and Mullikin and their support staff my family would not have had the chance to continue to spend time together, share holiday meals, go sailing, walk dogs, and continue to make memories together. The Duke Brain Tumor Center is incredibly supportive and everyone works hard to help their patients beat the odds, which unfortunately, even with the best care, are not great.
Thanks for considering running or walking in person or virtually as part of our team, or supporting Duke Brain Cancer Center patients like my dad and many others by making a donation using the link. Thanks!
