Welcome and thank you for visiting the Concha Crew Angels Among Us team page!

This team was created for my mom, Luz Concha who is now more than four years into her ongoing battle with brain cancer. My mom was diagnosed with Glioblastoma on May 2, 2018 after undergoing a surgical resection in Charlotte to remove her original tumor. She has since received top notch treatment at Duke and has undergone raditiation and various forms of chemotherapy. She has received continued support from her entire family who have been by her side to help her fight her hardest battles. If there's one thing we've learned is that no one fights alone, and throughout this process we've found that Luz has many many fighters to back her up! Not just in North Carolina or the United States, but all around the world. She has received incredible love and support from family and friends, both old and new.

My mom has not let her brain cancer restrain or define her, but has shown her relentless strength, love and optimism which have continued to carry her through. She wanted us to create this team to not only raise awareness of glioblastoma and the breakthrough research that Duke is conducting in the field, but as a way of celebrating her life, her strength and the hope that we all share for a cure.
