Thank you for visiting Clara's Angels!  Our team has been reactivated for 2023 in support of the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke and we hope you will join us on April 22, 2023.

Clara's story began when she went to the hospital to deliver Abby who will be 10 years old this November (2022).  As you might imagine, the joy of welcoming a baby to the family was tragically impacted with the diagnosis of a brain tumor. We can hardly imagine it has been 10 years and Clara is well!

Clara found her way to the expert and caring team at Duke where she was specifically diagnosed with gliobastoma multiforme or GBM and began an aggressive battle against brain cancer.  She endured radiation and chemotherapy and then enrolled in a clinical trial to boost her immune response to the cancer.  She completed her treatment officially in April 2015 and continues to stay in close contact with her caregivers at Duke while reaching out to show her love and support for other patients.

We are blessed and amazed by Clara’s health and the work continuing at Duke and remain grateful for all support.  Clara passed her 5 year post treatment mile marker during Covid and missed being able to personally share her joy and thanks with her supporters.  We will be together in the spring cheering on all the survivors, celebrating Clara and all at Duke and hope you can be with us!
