Hi everyone,

Thank you for visiting our page! As many of you know, on April 13, 2023 Mary Kapur went to the hospital because she was suddenly unable to speak. Her MRI results indicated a mass on the left temporal lobe of her brain which was later classified as primary CNS lymphoma, a rare form of brain cancer. At first, we were stunned and had difficulty knowing what to do or how to react. Luckily, we were able to connect with the exceptional medical professionals from the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, and their treatment and guidance have been crucial in aiding Mary’s fight. They were able to quickly get chemotherapy started, transitioned smoothly to radiation therapy, and now have her on an at-home chemotherapy program while closely monitoring her progress.

Even though this year has been difficult, the overwhelming support of our family and friends has made a tremendous difference in keeping spirits high and keeping the fight strong! To that end, we’d love to celebrate with you while helping a cause that is now near and dear to our hearts. Just over a year from the initial hospital visit, we’ll be participating in the “Angels Among Us 5K & Walk of HOPE”, a celebration of life, strength, courage and commitment and raises funds to support the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. The event is held at the beautiful Duke Garden Campus and is on April 27th, 2024. Please consider joining us for the walk or the 5K, or if you’re not able to join us please consider making a donation to the team. We will have team t-shirts and an afterparty for everyone to gather, share food and drinks, and recover from the race.
