Mary's Story:

September 2020: Experienced a very mild seizure while hiking in Acadia National Park

Sept-Nov 2020: Experienced occassional "odor hallucination seizures" while running

December 2020: Diagnosed with glioblastoma brain tumor at Duke Cancer Center

December 2020: Surgery at Duke to remove tumor

January 2021-March 2021: 6 weeks of oral chemo and directed radiaition treatments. This was a team effort between Duke Cancer Center and my local Kingsport TN Oncology Center.

April 2021-March 2022: 1 year of monthly dose oral chemo

January 2021-March 2023: Multiple CLEAN, "BEAUTIFUL" MRI scans!!!

May 2023 brought on a small reoccurrence and put me back on a year of daily oral chemo medication. Praise the Lord and the doctors at Duke that revealed the growth and provided the treatments.  I AM BLESSED!

Praising my LORD, my family, my doctors and my army of prayer warriors for my healing and health!!!

This health trial has increased my faith, my trust and my love for the Lord. It has given me a greater urgency to share my testimony and desire to live every day to the fullest. Every day is a gift!

Running is healing for me and I am looking forward to running this race to raise funds for research to END this dread disease!!

After our visit to Duke last year, we saw a license plate in the Duke parking garage that read COL1:10. It is a beautiful Bible verse that perfectly sums up my feelings on completing treatments for brain cancer. "So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father"
