Ray of Hope

Our journey of hope began in March 2011, when Ray was diagnosed with a Stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme.  The day that we learned of his diagnosis, will forever be etched into our minds, along with many more days in the months to come.  Even though Ray lost his battle in October 2012, just 19 months after his diagnosis, he never lost hope.

Ray was only able to attend Angels Among Us just once, but made the most of every minute of it.  He especially loved the walk through the Gardens and the Survivor Recognition.  Although this will be our 8th Angels walk without him, his memory is ever present in our lives.  In order to honor him, we too, will never lose hope for a cure.  As the phrase coined for our first Ray of Hope team shirt read, we firmly believe that - "Where there is a will, there is a way...Where there is hope, there WILL be a cure!"  It is our hope that one day, no other family will ever have to hear the news that we heard that day in March.  That no other family will lose their own Ray of Hope, like we did.

It is our family request, that you support The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke and our team Ray of Hope, in memory of Ray Monger.  It is at Duke where life for patients with brain tumors begins and where there is hope for a brighter tomorrow.  All monies donated will go directly towards research to discover a cure for patients just like Ray.

Time together is precious, enjoy one another and find the good in all things...Ray did.

We thank you in advance for your support and for remembering our Ray of Hope!

God Bless!
