Layla Grace Mewborn was diagnosed in March 2013, at 3 months old, with Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma.  Layla was always very energized and a joy to be around.  Her laughter was contagious and she had a precious smile.  She never let cancer get her down, even after 448 chemo treatments.  Layla was a patient at Duke receiving all her care until September 2016, when she began treatment under Children's National Hopsital in Washington, DC.  On November 26, 2016, Layla's 4th birthday, she gained her angel wings.  We miss her deeply and will be walking in memory of our princess.
