Give hope to kids that need it!
The Season of Hope is Duke Children’s most impactful fundraising campaign of the year. Beginning in late October and culminating with the annual Season of Hope Radiothon on MIX 101.5, this special season unites compassionate individuals from across the Triangle to give hope and healing to our patients and families.
Your generosity during this time directly supports the lifesaving care, research, and family resources that make Duke Children’s such a special place of hope.
Host an online fundraiser
Looking for a simple way to give back this holiday season? Gather your friends, coworkers, or family and host a fundraiser for Duke Children’s! Organize a bake sale, holiday movie night, or gift-wrapping station, partner with a local business for a giveback day, or start an online fundraiser to share with your community.
Every effort, big or small, helps bring joy, hope, and healing to Duke Children’s patients and families during the Season of Hope.
Meet 2025's Season of Hope Family
When Janae and Jon Dingaoyo married, they dreamed of starting a family, and that dream quickly came true with twins on the way. But at just 22 weeks, Janae went into labor far too soon.
She was airlifted from their local hospital in Burlington to Duke University Hospital, where doctors managed to slow her contractions and placed her on strict bed rest. Each day was a victory, but only 11 days later, on December 26, 2023, twins Akenji and Asanti were born at 23 weeks.
Weighing barely over a pound each, the boys were rushed to Duke Children’s Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the highest level of care for fragile newborns. For months, they fought through challenge after challenge, growing stronger and defying the odds until the day their family could finally go home together.
From birth, Akenji and Asanti showed remarkable strength. Thanks to the extraordinary care they received at Duke Children’s, the twins are now thriving, taking their first steps and loving every trip to the park.
