OUTLAW CANCER
Please join us as we Outlaw Cancer on Saturday November 11th 8:00am until 12pm at Life Time Apex. After losing a loved one to cancer, we often feel the need to make a difference but are unsure of where to start. This is your opportunity to do something greater to make an impact on our community.
We are asking for everyone affected by cancer or knows of anyone affected, to support this community event. All proceeds will go to the Duke Children's Hospital. Come honor those we lost and those still fighting!

The Why:
Physicians found a tumor on my eldest brother at 21 months, which lead to my brother having to wear a colonoscopy bag at 2 years old.
This was challenging for my mother and family where he required constant day to day care.
My mother had to catch the bus every day for 6 months to Duke for my brother's radiation and chemotherapy treatment. She was told that he would not make it past the age of two, but he went on to live an enjoyable, fulfilled life. At age 35 years my brother had his small intestines removed which led him to have to wear 2 bags.
At that time, he was the youngest and only person living to wear 2 bags.
Growing up my family never mentioned my brother had cancer, and he never showed any signs, he lived a vibrant active life, achieving and completing all the things he wanted to do.
April 8th, 2021, my brother passed away from cancer, it had come back and spread to his stomach, hips and pelvis.
Losing my older brother so fast and totally unexpectedly I struggle with wanting to honor him and bring attention to all forms of cancer.
So, I have created this event that will benefit our community and make a difference to those affected.
On November 11th we will host our Annual event combining fitness and cancer awareness into a community social that will benefit Duke Children’s hospital. This is why the event Outlaw Cancer was created. Please come to celebrate and share your stories with us.
