Welcome to Shannon McCall's Page

Dear friends,
Colon cancer continues to be one of the three most common types of cancers for American men and women. As a GI Pathologist, it makes my day when I look at small benign or pre-cancerous polyps, safely removed from someone undergoing a routine screening colonoscopy. That is much better than looking at biopsies from a patient with invasive colon cancer. Please get screened as recommended by your primary care physician and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Screening colonoscopies are highly effective at reducing your risk of developing the disease.
Please consider donating to the Duke Cancer Institute through this CRUSH Colorectal Cancer fundraiser. It's a great way to support the good work being done every day by my colleagues in search of better prevention and treatment.
