I'm fundraising in support of my sister, Bella. She has a rare genetic disorder and was very sick when she was younger. Over the years she is getting better and stronger and it’s all due to Duke Children’s. She still has to go to Duke often but every visit is filled with hope. We don’t think about the scary stuff much anymore. We know that no matter what the future holds Duke will stand with us.  The support Duke Children’s has given us has really had a powerful impact on her life and all of ours as well. From the physicians to the nurses to the staff to the child life staff to the janitors and front desk folks every one has made every trip, every surgery, every blood draw so much easier on her and I appreciate the love and care they give to her. I recently became a Duke Children’s patient myself and to see the amazing work from the patients point of view is so inspiring and it makes me feel very blessed to be able to receive care at a place where I matter, where I am not just another kid that came through the door. The love and care you’re given at every visit is incredible.
