Join me in supporting Duke Cancer Institute
This page is dedicated to honoring the life of my wife, Janel Keaton by raising money to support The Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis.
Janel was a 57 year old mother of 4 and Mimi of 8 with strong faith, a determination to live healthy. She was diagnosed in November 2020 with stage IV triple + breast cancer. She passed away in 2024 after a inspiring fight against her cancer.
Janel wanted to live a healthy, God-honoring life and motivated others by her devotion to regular exercise and fitness. In 2019 she challenged her husband of 30 years to do a Triathlon Sprint at Smith Mountain Lake where they lived. Through her inspiration her husband Troy completed that event which led to a healthier lifestyle for him.
April 25, 2024 Janel passed away after a 3 year and 4 month battle. Her diagnosis was stage IV from the beginning and her mobility and quality of life were stark. Through the dedicated work of the Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis Janel was able to live even while she was dying. Thanks to Duke Cancer and her strong faith in God, throughout her journey she climbed mountains, took trips, enjoyed her kids and grandkids and even inspired millions through her testimony on social media.
Janel and I are grateful for the work of the dedicated doctors and medical professionals at the center who gave her such great care during her journey!
