Join the Paula Takacs Foundation Team! 

We are excited to participate in the Strike Out Sarcoma 5K. This annual race raises important funds for sarcoma research and patient care at one of the nation’s leading centers for sarcoma treatment.

While sarcoma is considered rare, Duke treats thousands of patients with this disease through a highly collaborative and comprehensive approach — combining the expertise of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, therapists, and support staff to care for the whole patient and their loved ones.

The Paula Takacs Foundation is honored to stand alongside this incredible team and help raise critical funds for sarcoma research at Duke. In addition to supporting research, our Financial Assistance Program also directly supports patients at the Duke Cancer Institute — including seven individuals in 2024 alone.

Together, we’re making strides toward better outcomes, more support, and a brighter future for all sarcoma patients.
