Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk & 5K Run

Let's find a cure!

At the young age of 46, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer.  After undergoing standard chemotherapy, my ovarian cancer returned and so I started a regimen of immunotherapy and a targeted chemo every 3 weeks.  Unfortunately, my cancer has stopped responding to that and now I will begin a new chemotherapy and continue with the immunotherapy.  While it is not a cure, it is a treatment that will hopefully buy me more time.  Another treatment or cure needs to be discovered as I plan beat this cancer– that’s the goal and I’m a fighter!

I recently created a team (Ovary Achievers) to participate in the 2025 5k run & walk fundraiser for Duke ovarian cancer research to occur in September in Raleigh.  As ovarian cancer is known as a “silent killer” and a cure does not exist, I need your help in raising funds for research.  As this is a 501C, all donations are tax deductible. Any amount – personal or company – all amounts help!).

Much Love,

Jennifer
