Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk & 5K Run

Let's kick ovarian cancer's butt! - for Bo!

Friends and Family,

Join me in my efforts to support Ovarian Cancer Research as I participate in the Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Walk & 5K Run inmemory of my friend Maureen Bowen who lost her fight with this terrible disease.

Ovarian Cancer is called the Silent Cancer or Silent Killer.  When a woman gets this diagnosis, the cancer has already advanced to stage III.  Ovarian cancer is 1/10th as common as breast cancer but 3x as lethal.  The overall 5-year survival rate of ovarian cancer is about 30%.

Ovarian cancer needs more research and we need to bring more awareness.   Duke Hospital is making progress with new and better treatments and continuing their goal of finding an accurate screening test and with your help it will become a reality.

I know that we are in tough economic times.  I don't expect large donates, but even $1, $5, whatever you can spare, will help. And if you can't help financially, if you could spread the word, we would appreciate that as well.

Finally, if you feel inspired to participate in this effort, you can join as a virtial walker for $40.  If you choose to do this, please join the Team Fluffy Strong team and help us spread the word and raise some very needed funding to fight ovarian cancer.

Thank you so much for your support.  Together we can make a difference!

Tricia
