Welcome to My Personal Page

Hi all!
I'm back and at it again, only this time I'm bringing my family with me! Brooke and I will both be going Over The Edge for Duke Children's in April, 2020. And, the same as last year, all the funds we raise will be donated directly to the William H Mautz Pediatric Cardiology Support Endowment.
What is "Going Over the Edge?" On April 18, 2020 Brooke and I, along with many others, will be rappelling from the 21c Museum Hotel in Durham, NC to help fundraise for all the wonderful care given to the children and families of Duke Childrens Hospital.
In order to help us acheive our goal of fundraising for this amazing cause, ANY DONATIONS directed to us will need to be given directly into the Endowment online. From there, we/Duke will take care of the rest! Steps do this are (please call or email me directly with any questions about this process):
1. Click this link: http://tiny.cc/Mautz
2. Input the amount you would like to pledge and click "next"
3. Complete the following page (Continue to Payment, One-Time Gift)
4. Input your personal and billing information.
5. In the comment field, upon review of your payment, write: "Over the Edge." **This is how Duke will track your donation to this fundraiser!
6. Complete your donation.
Where are the funds going? I have chosen, with Duke Childrens' blessing, to designate 100% of the donations I am able to raise to the William H Mautz Pediatric Cardiology Support Endowment. Willy, as I knew him, was my younger brother and one of my closest and best friends throughout the 26 years we shared together. In 2015 Willy passed away, leaving behind friends, family, and a lasting impact on various lives. His ability to be that friend, loving family member, and impactful individual was in part due to the outstanding and compassionate care he received at Duke Pediatric Cardiology. I remember him now as a warm, funny, generous, quick-witted and loving friend. Among various appreciations i have developed since his passing, a deep gratitude for the care he received while at Duke Childrens remains constantly. In 2016, this endowment was started as a means of both honoring Will's fight against cardiac challenges as well as supporting children and their families who continue their fight today. Funds from this endowment will continue to be directed towards providing impactful and personal support to the families of Duke Pediatric Cardiology who are being cared for by Duke's amazing team.
How can others help? Aside from wishing me luck and hoping this whole rappelling thing goes well... others can simply donate to this great cause! A small gift can go a long way in providing much needed care, support, and love to those who need it so much: the children and families of Duke Pediatric Cardiology. By just clicking "Donate Now" and making your contribution, you will have joined the effort that honors Will and those with whom he shared the wonderful experience of being treated by Duke Childrens.
The William H. Mautz Pediatric Cardiology Support Endowment was established in memory of William Hardin Mautz, a pediatric cardiology patient at Duke Children’s. Will valued the excellent care he received at Duke Children’s and greatly appreciated Ronald Kanter, MD and Stephanie Wechsler, MD who cared not only for his heart, but his success and well-being as an individual.
This endowment honors the courage and humor with which Will faced his challenges. We invite you to join the Mautz family in supporting Duke pediatric cardiology patients and their families.
