About the Race, Walk for HOPE, and Li'l Angels Dash

The Angels Among Us 5K & Walk for HOPE is held on Duke Medical Center Campus at the corner of Erwin Road and Flowers Drive.

5K Race

The 5K race is a competitive certified course professionally timed. Enjoy rolling hills as you run through the beautiful Duke campus, by the Duke Chapel, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Nasher Museum of Art. We are the ONLY 5K run on the Duke campus!
 
Registration includes a commemorative medal, a bib chip, official time for "competitive" runners, and awards for eligible winners.
 
*If you choose to walk the 5K route, please note the police can only block streets until the last 5K runner finishes, which is approximately 75 minutes. At that time please walk on the sidewalks and obey traffic laws for pedestrians.
 

Walk for HOPEWalk for Hope

The Walk for HOPE begins at the main stage and is led by our pediatric survivors followed by our adult survivors. There are two route options for you to choose from, a half-mile walk around the Duke Medicine Circle then add the Duke Gardens for another mile. Both routes are wheelchair accessible. Li'l Angels Dash

The Li'l Angels Dash is back in 2025 for the third year! This event is designed for children ages 2 to 10 and takes place on Flowers Drive so you can all cheer the little ones on! Each child will receive a race bib, an event T-shirt, and an award following the dash.

Parking

All traffic should access Yearby Avenue through Anderson Street, please avoid Flowers Drive.

The GPS address takes you directly to the general parking entrance beside the event. That address is:

Accessible Parking

People or groups with disabilities have access to the parking lot on the corner of Yearby Avenue and Flowers Drive. Show your pass to staff on Yearby Avenue and proceed to lower lot on right. Ramps are on all medians so you can easily access all tents and activities.

Online registration is available until Thursday, April 24. You may also register in person on the day of the event, April 26. Register early to take advantage of our Early Bird rates. Registration fees are:

Please note: Your registration for the 5K, or Li'l Angels Dash includes a complimentary Walk of HOPE registration.

Mail: To register by mail, send your completed registration form along with your check made payable to Duke University-Angels. Be sure to include your team name on the memo line. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than Saturday, April 13. Registration forms and checks can be mailed to:

Please note: While we love our furry friends, no dogs or other animals are allowed for both guest and pet safety. Registered service animals are welcome.


Team Photos

team photos 2024Create lasting memories with a complimentary team photo. Contact Kim Toxey at angelsteamphotorequest@gmail.com to schedule a time for your team photo. Team photos are taken in 10-minute increments from 9:00 am to 10:40 am.

Please include the following in your email:

  • Team name

  • Team Captain name

  • Approximate number of team members

  • First choice time slot  (ie. 9:00, 9:10, 9:20 … all the way until 10:40)

Kim will confirm your time slot and provide additional details about your team photo. Be sure to share this time with your team members and decide on your meeting spot!
