Join us in Supporting the
Sadie Ellen Fund to support
Pediatric liver transplant!

In September of 2019, Bakari and Ellen Rucker Sellers’ daughter Sadie received a successful liver transplant at Duke Children’s, and are motivated to help provide positive outcomes for liver transplant families including minorities with chronic liver disease facing health disparities. The Sadie Ellen Sellers Fund will support the life-saving work of faculty and medical specialist in Pediatric Hepatology and Pediatric Liver Transplant at Duke.

At the request of the Sellers family, the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine is accepting donations to create either an expendable or permantently endowed fund named in Sadie’s honor. The Sellers will work closely with Dr. Alisha Mavis and her team to ensure funds will have the greatest impact for patient care and pediatric liver disease research. Duke Children’s is the premier children’s hospital in the Southeastern US, and a major care site for children with liver disease. Your tax-deductible donation will help Duke’s ability to provide world-class care for our most vulnerable patients.
