“The hospital visit that the kids go through is challenging enough without adding the daily stresses of being a human being. The Family Support Program helps out the families outside of the hospital and helps out the kids and young adults on the unit inside the hospital. To any family that is going through something similar, take the good days with the bad and try to live in the moment.”
“When I entered my room in 5200, I found on my bed a Red Power Ranger costume and the walls filled with pictures from our Disney trip. While in 5200, I had to be in isolation for the duration of my stay. So, I played Bingo from my room through a Walkie Talkie. There was a special Easter egg hunt organized just for me. After a 50 days stay in 5200, filled with some ups and downs, I was given a grand farewell with confetti falling all around me.”
"Some of the relationships we developed with Everett's medical team and fellow transplant families have persisted and enriched our lives. The support we received from the Family Support Program during what ended up being the most dramatic and stressful year of our lives made the process so much more manageable and we are forever grateful!”
These funds ensure that every PTCT family has access to our
support programs throughout their stay.
