Welcome to Players Against Cancer at Hollow Rock Racquet and Swim Club 2025! This will be our third consecutive year of partnering with Duke Cancer Institute. This year, donations will help the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program to provide free individual, couple, and family counseling; self-image services; pet therapy; lodging and transportation assistance, and much more!
This year’s format will be a social round robin event creating a fun and competitive experience for all participants, 18 years and older.
The tennis round robin will begin at 2:00 pm. Play will be 3 sessions of 40 minutes each with a 15 minute break between sessions.
Pickleball will begin at 2:30pm. Play will be continuous with 24 players on court and 8 sitting each session.
Hollow Rock pros will make court assignments based on USTA ratings to ensure that everyone gets ample playing time in a social and competitive setting. The court assignments will change each round.
The cost is $60 per player and $25 per non-player.
Important Weather Information: In the event of inclement weather on Saturday, April 26th, a rain date has been set for the following day, Sunday, April 27th. We will send information via email to those registered closer to Saturday regarding weather and rain date.
A fun new feature of PAC this year will be the ability to purchase Mulligans! Mulligans for both tennis and pickleball will be for sale before the event begins as well as during play.
Following the tournament, we will offer food and beverages, as well as tennis and pickleball exhibitions.This year's exhibition will feature UNC Basketball legend Tyler Hansbrough.
We also will have the return of the ever-popular Wine Pull and an incredible Silent Auction! Items include an overnight stay at the Washington Duke complete with breakfast for two, one week at an ocean front resort in Hilton Head, SC, and a pair of tickets to see the Carolina Panthers.
