Raising Funds and Awareness

Come celebrate 32 years of HOPE at our annual Angels Among Us 5K & Walk of HOPE. Join us in person or virtually as we raise awareness of our mission to find a cure for brain tumors.

Just as the team of dedicated medical experts work together to help patients at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, our Angels Among Us teams gather to help raise awareness and the critically needed funds to help support brain tumor research, patient education, and clinical trials of brain and spinal tumors.

Put your best foot forward and let’s get started.

Set a fundraising goal

SET A FUNDRAISING GOAL: We recommend a minimum goal of $500 but encourage you to think bigger and reach beyond your goal!

Personalize Your Page

PERSONALIZE YOUR FUNDRAISING PAGE WITH YOUR STORY: Share your reason for participating in Angels Among Us. When family and friends know why you're on the front lines fighting against brain tumors, they'll be more motivated to support you.

Make a personal donation

MAKE A PERSONAL DONATION: If you haven't already done so, donate to your own fundraiser to show your commitment to the cause.

DOWNLOAD OUR FUNDRAISING & RECRUITING TOOLKIT: Save the images in our toolkit (under Fundraising Ideas below) to share with family and friends on social media to raise more funds for brain tumor research and grow your team.

Fundraising Ideas

Meet with your team to swap fundraising ideas. What’s the number one way to get support? You have to ASK. It’s amazing how many people have made the comment, “I would have donated, but no one asked me.” Don’t miss an opportunity because you were too shy to ask.

Here are just a few ways in which you can raise money:

  • Direct birthday or holiday gifts to your team.
  • Hold a raffle with prizes or split the pot with a popular 50/50 option.
  • Host a Super Bowl or March Madness party—go team!
  • Start “Change Bandits” and collect change at your workplace.
  • Set up the classic and effective Lemonade Stand. Let the kids help out and make the lemonade with a twist—add fresh fruit, serve as a slushy, or add an adult beverage.
  • Advertise your fundraiser—create flyers or business cards for stores, coffee shops, churches, and work and email it to everyone you know.
  • Get matching gifts by asking your donors if their employer participates in a matching gift program. It’s a great way to double their donation.

Angels Among Us Challenge Grant

An anonymous donor—and very special angelhas issued a $200,000 “Angel Challenge” to every team who participated in 2024, to raise even more for brain tumor research in 2025!

Teams that participated in the 2024 Angels Among Us will be awarded $1 for every $1 of increased giving by their team towards the 2025 race, up to a maximum of $200,000! For example, if Team A raised $1,000 in 2024, and raises $1,500 in 2025, the $500 increase will be matched dollar for dollar. So, Team A will receive an extra $500 for their team total, making their 2025 donation $2,000. Only the funds you raise above and beyond your 2024 total are eligible to be matched.

“Angel Challenge” funds will be awarded on a first come, first served basis prior to April 26, until the $200,000 donation is depleted. To qualify to have matching funds added to your team total, all donations must be mailed by April 13. All online gifts must be made by April 25. After that date, please bring gifts with you to the event. At the event, if there are still challenge funds available, the teams with the largest increase from 2024 will be awarded first until all the funds are depleted.

We want to make sure every dime of this challenge is used by our generous grant!

Gift-in-kind donations or fees for services do not qualify for the challenge. Donations pledged but not yet paid do not qualify.
